Sitting right up front and enjoying plenty of comfort

Always "at home" even on the road

For the "short haul driver" who is actually home with the family even in the evenings, fancy slippers in the cab of the truck may be a bit over the top. For the truck driver just starting his well-deserved break, on the other hand, the slippers are a sign of feeling good. And a look inside the neat and tidy driver's cab also proves that not only has someone made himself at home here, but someone is enjoying the trucker's life as a balance to the ever-increasing tasks on the road.

When home becomes a distant memory

Of course, every truck driver wants to finish work on time in the evening and be at home with his family. For long-distance drivers in particular, however, this wish is pushed far back. The long distances are not so easy to cover and the waiting times are getting longer and longer, despite modern technology for loading and unloading. The mountain of new laws and regulations, which grows from year to year, continues to ensure greater safety on the roads, but also adds to the time spent.

The goal: faster, more convenient and safer

A lot has changed not only in the driver's cab, but also in the back of and on the loading area. As requirements have changed over time, Edscha TS soft tops have adapted and become decisively faster, more comfortable and safer. A truck driver also needs a place to work that is comfortable and ergonomic. Truck manufacturers gratefully took up the driver's wishes. Today, there are even many "cab tuners," companies that make cab interiors perfect to the point. So, even for the nostalgic, the adventurous trucker's life on the "trestle" along exciting routes continues to exist - it just gets a lot more comfortable.

Everything is possible

By the way, many trucking companies entice drivers with a comfortably furnished driver's cab. Drivers should feel comfortable in their truck and be able to transport their cargo and vehicle safely and relaxed to their destination and back again. And so one can only marvel at what the vehicle manufacturers' technicians conjure up in the driver's cab. Sometimes it's as comfortable as being at home. Today, you can sleep in your cab, watch TV and relax during breaks. If you feel hungry or thirsty, you can see what the built-in refrigerator has to offer and prepare it with the microwave or on the gas stove. A little music with it? The super stereo system flatters your ears or makes sure that the truck driver next door knows what your taste in music is. Another "good night kiss" for your sweetheart? The video phone can make that happen, too.

Always "at home" even on the road

Sitting better - sleeping more soundly

Was everything better in the past? No, many drivers used to have back pain. Because the cab equipment was not only spartan and uncomfortable, but also extremely back-hostile. Nowadays, things are completely different, too. More and more attention is being paid to modern, ergonomic seats and sleeper berths, which, for example, make it possible to cover long distances comfortably and in a relaxed manner. Often enough, the upholstery is designed as if you were floating on "cloud nine". Today, a truck can be configured on the screen as one deems necessary and as one personally likes it. Technically and in terms of living space, a lot can be realized with imagination.

From the ordinary to the cult

Of course, there are also the famous two groups among truck drivers. Those who are satisfied with what they get. And here the standard is already very high, if one thinks of the nowadays usual basic equipment such as auxiliary heating, refrigerator, TV, Internet, etc.. And then there is the group of drivers who have a real cult around their "living room". There is fine leather, genuine Persian carpets, shelves for books and other "favorite items", photo wallpaper and curtains for the sleeping cabin, dimmable light, TV and radio of the finest quality, sockets for the coffee machine and even a teddy bear on the passenger seat. However, showers and toilets in the driver's cabin are still not available. But perhaps there will soon be a mobile solution to this problem, too.
