Logisticians on tour with the "world's fastest side curtain".

Press release: How to be first with the customer

If you want to be fast in the world of logistics, you have to be able to be fast. You can find out just how fast at the transport logistic trade fair from 9-12 May 2023 in Munich. There, sliding roof manufacturer Edscha TS will present the QuickCurtain system, "probably the fastest side curtain in the world".

Next Generation

The further optimised QuickCurtain is the beginning of a new generation of side curtain systems. It is quick, easy and uncomplicated to operate. And at the same time very adaptable. QuickCurtain runs on rollers at both the top and bottom. The rollers are guided by solidly manufactured flat iron roller rails and by the standard top rails. During assembly, the usual 20 or so dead centre tensioners in the curtain and separately operated stanchions are completely dispensed with. The integrated vertical Kevlar tensioning belts between the tarpaulin rollers and the roller rail also eliminate the need for all lateral insertion profiles. The system is intended for all standard applications and also with positive-locking loading in accordance with EN12642 "XL" with verification by dynamic testing.

One person and one system

In combination with a sliding roof system, QuickCurtain demonstrates its particularly "quick" mode of operation. Opening or closing can be done in just one minute by only one person. This feature alone makes QuickCurtain a sought-after system for equipping vehicles with future-oriented sliding roofs. Such flexible tarpaulin sliding roof systems, with their fast lateral access, make it possible to plan tours in distribution transport to a very high degree and relieve dispatchers and drivers.

"Quick" operation

<pThe "quick" operation includes the very smooth and fast opening of the side curtain in about one minute. Speed and safety are not dependent on the loading volume. In addition, the system is very robust and easy to service. And it also features integrated load securing. Pegboards do not have to be used.

Entire superstructure remains unchanged

The entire structure of the QuickCurtain system with vertical tensioning tubes on the bulkhead and rear portal remains the same. Just like the Edscha TS roof bars (with SPR4 tarpaulin rollers) of the standard series. The system is supplemented by the new LP4 rolling stanchion and the lower rolling anchors on a curtain specially made by Edscha TS. There is no interference with the installation space for the clamping centre. Similarly, horizontal series tensioning systems are retained for robust operation and favourable implementation from the CS superstructure. The package length is less than 25% of the load floor length. And another piece of good news from QuickCurtain: The tarpaulin is part of the scope of delivery and can be labelled on request.
